Cool Coop

Jessica and I got the news that our chicken coop would be ready for pickup on Saturday! We rented a big pickup truck from U-Haul and made the 80 mile trip down to Morgan Hill to meet Knox ( The young owner of Cool Coops).
When we pulled up the driveway I could see our coop, like a beacon of hope the corrugated metal roof shone in the sun. We need to get the chicks, which were now looking a lot like pullets, out of the sewing room and into the backyard like fast (like last week).
Knox and his dad loaded the coop into the truck for us ,thank goodness! The very well made coop weighs a ton even with its removable panel and roof we were going to have a time getting it in the backyard.
We finally arrived home and it was time to unload the very heavy coop. I was thankful to see my dad was finishing up the door on the chicken run in back and happy that my brother, who rents the lower portion of the house, was home. I employed them both in a hurry.
After a lot of unnecessary thought (my dad wanted to take the coop apart!) and unnecessary heavy lifting we decided the best strategy was to remove part of the gate leading into the back yard. Once that was accomplished Jessica, Christian (my brother) and I carried the coop up the side of the house and into the backyard where it now resides. Phew! We still can't believe that we carried it all the way up there.
Now we have to figure out how to make the coop and yard one unit, yes, I know, not very well thought out, but, I figure if we made it this far...
